Say Hello to Clickthrough online marketing

Monday, July 28th, 2008

Clickthrough online marketing logoAs you might have noticed I’ve taken a long holiday. Not really. Just before Christmas I decided to leave my job at iMetrix and start as an independent online marketing consultant. This is the reason of a somewhat long absence.

I’m currently enjoying my last few days at WDM Nederland where I’ve worked as Project Manager e-Campaigns. I got to know e-marketing platform Messagent from Optizen pretty well and had a lot of interesting tasks to complete.

Now also my new website has launched so visit in masses and buy my services :-) Click here: Clickthrough online marketing

What’s Up?

Monday, September 3rd, 2007

I’ve been a little quiet the last weeks, mainly because I got my first assignment for the IDM Certificate in Digital Marketing course I’m doing. I had to write a Digital Marketing Plan for a company named CORGIdirect. It was a lot of work but fun to do. I can’t wait to receive my mark :)

I wanted to write about WebTrends 8.1 as there is a lot to write about but unfortunately my test installation had to be reinstalled and suddenly WebTrends added a server-software check. Since my key includes the Marketing Warehouse and Marketing Warehouse can’t be installed on Windows XP, I’m not able to install WebTrends now. I’ve to wait for a new key.

Last Friday I received Web Analytics Demystified bij Eric Peterson. I know it’s been a while ago since it had been released but I haven’t had time yet to read it. Also soon to be received is the book Google Analytics 2.0 by Jerri L. Ledford and Mary E. Tyler. This second edition (first edition was about the old interface) is being released September 4th.

Back from Hong Kong and Thailand

Saturday, July 7th, 2007

Dave in ThailandThis summer our holiday target was Hong Kong and Thailand. We started with a 3 days stay in Hong Kong and took a flight to Bangkok to join a group of 6 Dutch people, a Thai tour guide and a Thai driver. We did the 15 day North-Thailand trip provided by FOX.

I must say that this was one of the most beautiful places we’ve seen. Hong Kong has amazing architecture with the thousands and thousands of flats while the temples and Thai culture feels like a warm welcome and invites you to learn about the Thai believes. Feel free to browse through or photographs to see the beauties we’ve seen; Dave & Edwin in Hong Kong & Thailand.

www.omtrends.com now uses WordPress!

Saturday, May 19th, 2007

Dave VerzijlAs you might notice, I have switched weblog software to WordPress.

My reason for this mainly was that dasBlog isn’t used alot by non-programmers and I don’t really feel the need to tweak my weblog by diving into the code. I noticed that WordPress has a great supportbase and is used alot on the internet. I have yet to get the design adjusted a bit and tweak the settings here and there. Just keep visiting, it will get better :)

How to get rid of the IE7 searchbar

Friday, December 8th, 2006

Probaly like many of you, I recently upgraded to Internet Explorer 7 and am trying to tweak the settings to improve my browser experience. One of the things that annoyed me, is the search bar which you can’t disable by changing the IE7 settings.

It is possible though and it just takes a minute, Steve Wiseman from IntelliAdmin has posted an article on this issue and provides a little tool which helps you switching off the search bar.

Now, install the Google Toolbar and get back your life :-)

Get a free iPod Shuffle or iPod Nano by buying stuff through referral links

Friday, December 30th, 2005

the Netherlands has a new pyramid-like advertising system through which you can earn a free iPod Shuffle or iPod Nano. The catch is that you sign up to a site that has referral-contracts with companies like Dell, eBay, holiday agancies etc. After you sign up you have to buy at least one item from these contracted copanies. Then after doing so, you have to find up to 30 other persons to do so. When they all have bought at least one item, the iPod Nano is yours.

If you prefer an iPod Shuffle, you only have to get 4 other persons to sign up.

This pyramid-like advertising/selling system isn’t new but not often used in the Netherlands. Click on the banner below to open the site. All is in Dutch though !
